The Fishmongers’ Company is delighted to announce Seafish as a sponsor of “The Mediterranean Diet Revisited” one-day conference being hosted by the Fishmongers’ Company in association with Heart Research UK at Fishmongers’ Hall on Friday 2nd November.
With the one-year Anniversary of Seafish’s “Fish is the Dish” Campaign fast approaching, the Company is pleased to receive the support of such a successful movement and to work together to promote the many health benefits of seafood, a key aspect of the Mediterranean Diet.
Fish is the Dish is a hardworking digital campaign using website, Facebook and Twitter to engage mums in the idea that 'Fish is Easy'. Seafish believes that whilst not traditional heavy users of seafood, mums are a prime target for messages about increased fish consumption because having children in the household means they are receptive to ideas and information about food and health.
The conference will provide a platform for Seafish to communicate the latest trends in consumer perceptions of seafood and healthy eating and how encouraging people to try and eat more sustainable seafood might be achieved.
“We are delighted to be able to sponsor this conference which dovetails neatly with the work Seafish is undertaking on the Fish is a Dish campaign. Mums have been responding in big numbers to our core messages that fish is the easy, healthy, sustainable, and tasty and this conference is another important way of driving home the important health benefits that putting fish on your menu twice a week can deliver”, said Karen Galloway, Market Planning and Strategy Manager at Seafish.
